A Holiday from School Holidays

This is a sponsored post

I don’t know about you, but I need a holiday. Desperately. When I was a childless teacher, school holidays were always such a relaxing time. When it was busy, it was ‘good’ busy. This time, we’re all on holidays (my husband is a teacher) and all I’m dreaming about is an actual holiday.

Now I get it. Now I know why people pay good money for flights during school holidays. Now I know why they painfully pack for a week and suffer the anxiety that comes with flying with children in tow. Sometimes you need to just get out, breathe and change the scenery. You need to escape from the walls, plastic toys and mundane grocery shopping.

Seriously, my CONSTANT current scenery includes matchbox cars all over the ground and at least one kid whinging about something completely nonsensical.

But, where can you go?

Well, I don’t know about you but I’d like to go somewhere different, somewhere overseas, but not too far away. I don’t like plane travel that much, but I love other cultures and the thrill of being somewhere that isn’t your own country. New Zealand is pretty much the perfect answer. It’s only 1500km east of us across the Tasman sea. If you’ve driven across states in Australia, you’ll know that 1500km is practically just¬†up the road.¬†

Yeah, but what can you do in New Zealand?

You can hire a campervan from Campervan Hire New Zealand and hit the road as soon as you get there. You can bid a mega farewell to those white walls and plastic toys, look up and see this….

Ok, I’m sold, but how am I going to entertain the kids?

If the views aren’t enough for your kids and they seriously should be, but kids hey? There’s heaps of other amazing stuff do while trekking through New Zealand in a motorhome. Check out some of the must-do experiences here.

So are you needing a holiday from school holidays? Dream with me, where are you booking this year?
